Obama and the Preacher

All I can say is, "I'm glad no one in my congregation is running for president!"

And just why is it that you are glad no one in your congregation is running for President?

Do you, like "Rev." Wright, preach hatred of America (or should I say "Amerikkkkka"?)?

Do you like "rev." Wright, preach conspiracy theories?

If so, then let me say that *I* amd glad that I am not in your congregation.

If what you say is correct (that no matter what you say, someone with an ax to grind will twist it to their own ends), then doesn't it follow that:

1. It doesn't really matter what anyone says. Truth really has no meaning, because "no matter what anyone says", someone with an ax to grind will always twist it to their own ends?

2. You have made clear on your own blog that you have a few axes of your own to grind. Your axes include the war in Irag and ordaining homosexuals to the ministry of Word and Sacrament. Since, as you suggest, someone "with an ex to grind" will twist what is said "to their own ends", why should anyone listen to you when you quote someone with whom you disagree? Or do you suggest that, despite your own "axes" to grind, you would never twist the words of someone else to your own ends?

No, anonymous, it doesn't follow. Thank you for exploring logical fallacies.
Peace.

Anon: regarding your comment here -- "someone with an ex to grind"? I never had a relationship end THAT poorly!
