Offense Taken, Thanks

Well, Pat Robertson says gays don't really want to get married. Who knew? It would come as quite a surprise to the same-gender couples I've married. They were all pretty damned excited, as were their families and loved ones.
If you watch the clip linked above, you'll see Pat's cohost saying that "Christians ought to get offended." Well, she and Pat offended this Christian.
Pat is probably still blaming gays for Katrina.
It's amazing how powerful the small GLBT community must be: undermining Western Civilization, destroying marriage and flooding the Gulf Coast. Oh, and they helped 9-11 to happen, as well.
Simply remarkable.

I'm offended by this post.

Please, oh please, do not tell me you take Pat Robertson seriously.

You do realize, of course, that your little diatribes about Pat Robertson are equivalent to someone saying that Perez Hilton speaks for all LGBT people.

It may be really amusing to poke fun at the lunatic rantings of Pat Robertson. But please don't take him any more seriously than thoughtful people consider the lunatic rantings of someone like Perez Hilton.

Hi Christian,

I like your brand of advocacy. Reminds me of...

"First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a communist;

Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist;

Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a trade unionist;

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—because I was not a Jew;

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me."

Best to the family!

Lee: I have a poster of that quote (from German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemoller) hanging on one wall of my study -- directly across from a poster of Dr. King, with his words, "injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere."
